Notes: 2022 note: This is shockingly bad for something written as recently as 2017 – apparently I had no grasp of character voices at all – but I like some of the headcanons in this, particularly my enduring belief that Figg and Sprout are sisters. I abandoned the story when I realised I couldn’t work out a way to get rid of Barry that wasn’t unnecessarily dramatic: the possibilities I came up with at the time were “suddenly takes to domestic violence” or “dies in a mountaineering accident”.
I’ve sworn never to write anything for this fandom again for reasons that are probably obvious, so here’s this quite bad, very incomplete fic.
