He had gone home with Davige that night, and since then, she had made no live appearances, nor recorded any new songs, other than the one on Lynch’s new album. I sent an email to Lynch’s agent asking if I might have an interview.
I realize this isn't the point of the fic, but man did I get stuck on this. aaaaaaaaaugh Jason you DICK! It totally happens, too, and that's horrible. GET OUT, EMMA. YOU CAN DO BETTER. YOU WERE DOING BETTER /o\
Man, I did not expect the twist at the end, either.
“Does your sister have children?” I asked.
“She’s still in high school!” said Rachel.
There was another pause.
“No,” she said.

Oh my godddd this is awesome! And it reads exactly like a Guardian article, too :-) just... The narrator's voice is perfect.
And what a perfect dick you've made of Jason! (And particularly all the things designed to really piss off a Guardian columnist, too! He writes mediocre music! He's not good with words! He wouldn't give an interview!) I agree with the commenter above me - Emmie deserves so much better!
Rachel! Sammy! I love that the baby is just thrown in by Jason/Emmy out of spite, and of COURSE there's more to Rachel than ballet. The ending was great - poor Sammy!
I'm a but gushy because it's 4am, but I LOVE it! Thank you, mystery author!

Exquisite satire that is both totally absurd and completely serious. Also fuck Jason: his evilness is perfectly plausible and the more grotesque for it.
