Braska vaguely remembered hearing that black mages tended to favour one of the four elements, but he had never expected to settle on one almost as soon as he began his training. And yet, even when he had made no progress beyond the very weakest spells, it was already clear: for him, that element was fire.Braska’s appearances as a playable character in FF mobile games seem to suggest fire is his main element. I don’t know what this is based on but I’m all for it. That nurturing warmth, that destructive power – that capacity to grow and to overtake, and to transform from something unremarkable and easily tamed to the very arbiter of life and death – he didn’t know why, in those early days, but he was absorbed by it.
