Oh, poor Remus! You can really feel his pain here and his loneliness. He needs a hug badly. I just love the idea of Sirius and Remus cuddling in the passageway when they were in school. So bittersweet and lovely.

I'm really sorry for the late comment, but I really like this!
You've packed so much into so few words, Remus' grief and the sense of deja vu, of coming back to a place that used to be home so long ago, and how everything in his life has changed since then.
I love the imagery of the memories, of the statue and the link between the past and the present, and how you sketch out the scene with so few words, the sense of him being almost caught out of time while the students of today just go on with their lives as he did when he was a student.
