Oh my god, every word of this is magnificent and I am laughing way too hard. The character voice is brilliant – I love Locke’s spelling and Edgar’s response to it, and Edgar’s “quotation marks.”

This is priceless. :D The contrast in their diction really makes it, even down to how they address each other and how they sign off - in such a short space, this conveys so much about the two different brands of smartassery in play. Locke's sort of terse misspelled note detouring into mock-formality ("I awate your reply your magesty etc." is SO GOOD), Edgar roasting him about it and then pivoting back to a (super wordy) "anyway yeah let's hook up" - it is perfect and I love it. Thank you for writing this treasure.

Oh my lord, Locke's SPELLING, this is perfect! And the journey from "you free tomorrow?" to "I awate your reply your magesty etc." And No, you abominable ruffian, the king is not at liberty to grace the town with his presence at a moment’s notice. This is just so much fun!
