Oh, ouch! This makes so much sense – both the way the armor works, and the way he can’t erase all traces of it – and the almost clinical way you’ve described it makes what it means for Cecil hit all the harder. Really nicely done.

Oh that is a grisly bit of worldbuilding, but makes a lot of sense. I really love the final image of dark scars against pale skin.
